Mei-Lan Tan is a designer working in objects, interiors, and architecture. She founded UMÉ, a multidisciplinary design practice that blurs the boundaries between art, craft, and experience. A recent Forbes 30-under-30 honoree in the Arts and Style category, she is an Architecture Studio Lecturer at UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design.
She is currently working on interior projects and renovations for both the home and retail environments.
Previously, she has worked at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Switzerland. She completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University with the highest honors and the Bernhardt Prize.
